You want your children to be organized and stay safe, but your kids have other things in mind. Your kids want to play, play and play! If you are having a hard time keeping your children’s room clean and organized, read on some tips to help you with your goal. Create the room to be more efficient. Make use of enough of small drawers or cabinets, where you can put your child’s belongings. Utilize anything that fits the design or budget. For toddlers, hanging their clothes on small hangers can easily help them choose an outfit that looks good together. Arrange outfits for your older toddler and place them in a zipper bag or a paper bag. For babies, group the essential things you need in one area. Put all items that you need for changing your baby on or near your changing table. Arrange baby’s bath basics together including towels and washcloths. Keep them within easy reach when you are bathing your baby. After all, you cannot leave your baby in her tub while you look for her baby shampoo.
Think about placing shelves all over your child’s room. You can put toys on them so that when your child wants to play, she can easily reach them without ruining other toys on the self. Arrange your toddler’s clothes. You can place each item into a paper bag or a cloth bag (Note: plastic bags might present a hazard to a young child’s safety). Place a limit on the toys that are used at one time. Teach your kid to play with their toys one at a time. If a particular toy is not part of a "game" plan, put them back on their shelves. Make use of special containers for the toys with small pieces. A good example is using old shoeboxes as a toy car garage. For your boy's area, place a basketball hoop on top of his laundry bin. He then will not only keep his dirty clothes organized, but he can also practice some basketball moves. Train your kids to pick up their toys. Ask your child to return each toy to its shelf once he is done playing with it.Be resourceful and recycle. Think about touching up your old desk or bookshelf for the child's room so that no item is wasted. Ask your children to join you when you are cleaning their rooms. Teach your children to place their toys and other times in their right places once they are done playing. It takes time before you see results but it is worth it.
