One Minute Tip:
Surround yourself with people and books and activities and events that move you toward your ultimate goals. You probably won’t get there in a day, or even in a year, but it’s essential that you keep going.
So, here’s a key question, ”Where do you think you’re going in life?” Whatever your ultimate destination, whatever your dream, think about it all day long, every day, until one day you wake up to discover you’ve arrived.
Power Quotes:
Happiness:
”To love what you do and feel that it matters, how on earth
could anything be more fun.” Health:
”I find the great thing in this world is not so much where we
stand, as in what direction we are moving.” Prosperity:
”The greatest good you can do for another is not just to share
your riches but to reveal to him his own.”
Tips for your Happiness:
Parents and teachers work for harmony in schools Parents are talking to their children about how they and their classmates treat each other. Call it one small step toward harmony among students.
The discussions come when kids talk about what happened in school, what they or someone else did. At that point Mom or Dad can delve into why their child made a hurtful remark or how a student felt when insulted or pushed. Some schools now have anti-bullying policies. New Laws in Georgia, New Hampshire, and Vermont require them.
Schools are insisting that verbal or physical abuse will not be tolerated. The National Threat Assessment Center says that in most cases of school violence, the attackers felt persecuted, threatened, or attacked. And it’s is why more than 160,000 kids skip school every day, according to the National Association of School Psychologists.
In 1992 one principal initiated a program to teach kids that they shouldn’t fight back when bullied. Instead they tell the offender “I don’t like what you said to me,” or “I am asking you to stop,” or “I’m going to get help.” Victims fill out a form describing the incident, and the issue is taken to peer mediation.
Schools say bullies love an audience, and they are sending those bystanders to after-school programs as well as the bullies themselves. Parents and students sign contracts at the start of school saying that no child can be put down for academic performance, appearance, family composition, or gender. 3 Bad Driving Habits You Should Change Now
Are you a devil on the road? If you’ve had one brush too many with other drivers, maybe it’s time to take a look at your driving style and change your bad driving habits. You not only keep yourself and other people safe, you also avoid destroying your beloved car. Here are ways you can change your bad driving habits and use the road more responsibly:
Drinking and driving.
Next time you feel the urge to drink and drive, think about the lives that will change if you get in an accident. That should be enough to sober you up.
Not checking the car before using it.
Make a list of the things that you need to do during a check up: a before-driving check up list, a weekly check up list and a monthly check up list. And dont forget the maintenance schedules that are based on your car’s mileage.
Not checking blind spots.
Talking on the cell phone during driving.
Tools to Help You Focus and Concentrate on Your Goal Even with the right mindset, theres every chance that you still wont be able to focus and concentrate on the matter at hand. If you wish to attain your objectives quickly and efficiently, you should consider getting a little outside help in a manner of speaking.
The Atmosphere Speaks for Itself
The Sound of Music
To avoid irritating other people in the office, use earphones when listening to your favorite tunes.
Attend Workshops
Self-Study through Books
Taking a Bath
Dont Work on an Empty Stomach
Dont Be Shy to Use Self-Affirmations
Use Breathing Exercises
Of course, having all the tools you need to improve your focus and concentration wont be enough either if you dont have the right mindset. It goes both ways so make sure that youve got the right tools and the right attitude before tackling any Herculean task at work!
Tips for your Health:
The Simplest Workout You’ll Ever Do
One of the best – and easiest – things you can do for your health is breathing exercises.
Try this: Keep your mouth closed, and draw the air into your body through the nostrils. Just breathe deeply into the abdomen, all the way down into your pelvis. Find the rhythm that is fluid, smooth, and relaxing for your body.
EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) was originally designed to reduce the psychotherapy process from months and years down to minutes and hours. From there it was discovered that astonishing physical healings also occurred. Symptoms faded for everything from Migraine Headaches to Cancer. Complete details are given on the EFT website at www.emofree.com It often works where nothing else will.

What are Allergies?
An Allergy can be described as sensitiveness of the body to a substance which does not normally affect other persons. There are innumerable substances in the environment which can cause mild to violent reactions in many people. These reactions range from true allergies due to intolerance of certain foods and substances, to those resulting from pollution. Allergic reactions may occur within a few minutes of the patient coming in contact with the allergen, or they may be delayed for several hours or even several days. Almost any part of the body can be affected by allergies. The portion of the body which is affected is called a shock organ. Common sites are the nose and eyes, the skin, chest, intestines and ears. Allergic reactions are caused by a wide range of substances and conditions. These include pollen, dust, cosmetics and animal hair; poisonous plants, serums, vaccines and drugs; physical agents such as heat, cold and sunlight; as well as a variety of foods. Allergic reactions can be mild, like a runny nose, or they can be severe, like difficulty breathing. An asthma attack, for example, is often an allergic reaction to something that is breathed into the lungs in a person who is susceptible.
Signs & Symptoms of Allergies color=green> The symptoms of allergy are as varied as the substances causing the reaction. These include recurring headache, migraine, dizziness, irritability, nervousness, depression, neuralgia, sneezing, conjunctivitis, diabetes, eczema, heart-burn, hay fever, indigestion, constipation, diarrhoea, gastric ulcer, asthma, overweight, high blood pressure, chest pain, heart attacks, a stuffy or runny nose, shortness of breath, swelling of the face and eyes, etc. The same food can cause different symptoms in different people. Many allergies are multiple and may be caused by multiple allergens.
Types of Allergies color=green> Airborne Pollen Allergies – allergies and asthma symptoms triggered by trees, grass, plants and flowers. Dust Mite Allergies – allergies and asthma symptoms activated by microscopic bugs that live in carpets, upholstered furniture, bed linens, mattresses and box springs, animal dander and house dust. Pet Allergies – allergies and asthma symptoms triggered by animal dander, old skin scales. Mold Allergies – allergies and asthma symptoms set off by mold, mildew and fungi, inside and out. Food Allergies – allergies and asthma symptoms triggered by something eaten. Although any food can cause an allergy, life-threatening food allergies can be caused by allergic reactions to peanuts, shellfish, citrus and monosodium glutamate (MSG).
Risk Factors: color=green> The tendency to develop allergies is often hereditary, which means it can be passed down through your genes. However, just because a parent or sibling might have allergies, that doesn’t mean you will definitely get them, too. A person usually doesn’t inherit a particular allergy, just the likelihood of having allergies.
Prevention: color=green> Avoid smoking and heavy alcohol consumption ( research points to having a small amount of red wine per day is actually beneficial, although we suggest that it is hard to limit ones self to just a bit without it becoming a problem so it’s best to avoid or only on occasion ). Heavy coffee consumption is to be avoided ( 1 or 2 regular cups per day is not considered harmful ). You will find your triggers can be particles that are called in the air and settle in your lungs. These types of triggers can be found in your home and even outside of your home. The first thing that causes most attacks is smoke. You should never allow anyone to smoke near you if you have an allergy to tobacco smoke or even any smoke. You should set your burning barrels far awhile from the house and then you should enclose the house so that no smoke can come through an open window or door. Another thing is perfume or other aureole sprays. Anything that is sprayed and lingers in the air can make your passageways become constricted. The cold air will also harm your breathing. The shock of the cold air in your passageways makes them tighten up.

That great resolution: Save more money
The stock market has hammered our 401ks because it has been out of control. But so has our spending. Instead of limiting the damage by saving more, some Americans are spending more.
With a disciplined savings program, you can increase the amount you save and offset some of your stock-market losses. If you think you don’t spend too much, you’re wrong. There’s plenty of room to cut costs if you just look.
The Labor Department’s Consumer Expenditure Survey shows that households spend about $38,000 a year. They spent $319 on tobacco, $372 on alcohol, and $1,863 on entertainment, including pets (tobacco and liquor figures are probably much higher than people report). Gambling took an average of $600 a year, and short trips cost families $463 each not counting travel expenses.
Cars were a big item at $7,000 a year. Households spent $5,158 on food, of which a big 41 percent went toward eating out. Economists at the University of Chicago say middle-class Americans save only two ways. The first is by paying off their mortgage. The second is by contributing to their pension plan.
Outside of that Americans don’t have much money. If you want to do better than that, consider an automatic investment plan where money comes out of your bank account every month and is invested in something like mutual funds. Sales talk:
Remember the basics of effective listening
Everyone knows that listening to customers is important in developing a relationship. But how do you suppress the urge to talk? Consider this advice from experts quoted in Selling Power.
* Be patient. Make eye contact, and take brief notes of key points.
* Offer verbal and nonverbal encouragement with facial expressions, mm-hmms and head nodding. Allow for periods of silence, and let customers speak for as long as they want.
* Listen carefully to discover underlying issues. Focus on customer needs, not on your product. Don’t interrupt or distract.
* Ask questions at the end. Assume you haven’t understood everything.
* Don’t make assumptions, jump to conclusions, or finish clients’ sentences.

We are Family: Budget Tips for Todays Familial Ties
If you are in charge of creating the family budget, chances are, youve had the unfortunate experience of having a brilliant budget plan that isnt executed well. This happens to many families and couples, and with a little attitude tweaking, you can solicit the help of your family in making your budget work.
Create a family budget vision. Talk to your spouse and children about whatever budgetary constraints you are facing, or whatever financial goals you intend to set. By being completely honest about the bills and loans you have to pay, or your intention to save a certain amount of money for a family emergency fund (or a college fund, for that matter), you can help your family understand better your collective financial situation.
This will allow them to change their perspective on purchases they make, and will help you make sure that whatever money crunching strategies you utilize wont be counteracted by a subsequent spree by your teen.
Another good technique is to create a list of usual expenditures per member of your family. Together, identify which items you can do away with in order to save up some extra money from your monthly income. By doing this altogether, you are making your family participate better and see the contributions they can make into making your familys finances better.
Should your child have the habit of continuously asking for money for minor and oftentimes unnecessary purchases, you can let your children learn to manage their own weeks allowance. With their limited money to budget, they will realize the value of money.
Put a cap on the amount of expenditures you make in a week. The best way to do this is set aside a fixed amount of cash that you will spend for a week. By putting this limitation on your spending, you are forced to prioritize spending on the most essential over other things.
Make it easy for your family to save more. How often do you eat out? Most family budgets are blown over because of the frequency of dining out and the accompanying exorbitant expense of that activity. Eating at home will reduce your expenses, not to mention allow for your family to bond over cooking at home. Do you spend on routine purchases like coffee and newspapers? Cut back on the latte and the paper, and put aside the amount you would otherwise spend. Your familys collective saving will surprise you.
Lastly, dont be afraid to create a most efficient driving route, as well as grouping together activities into one car trip. This way, you can save a lot on time and even on gasoline and car expenses.

Bad day in the office?
Next time you have a bad day at work…think of this guy. Rob is a commercial saturation diver for Global Divers. He performs underwater repairs on offshore drilling rigs. Below is an E-mail he sent to his sister.
She then sent it to radio station 103.2 on FM dial in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, who was sponsoring a worst job experience contest. Needless to say, she won.
Hi Sue,
Just another note from your bottom-dwelling brother. Last week I had a bad day at the office. I know you’ve been feeling down lately at work, so I thought I would share my dilemma with you to make you realize it’s not so bad after all. Before I can tell you what happened to me, I first must bore you with a few technicalities of my job.
As you know, my office lies at the bottom of the sea. I wear a suit to the office. It’s a wetsuit. This time of year the water is quite cool. So what we do to keep warm Is this: We have a diesel powered industrial water heater.
This $20,000 piece of equipment sucks the water out of the sea. It heats it to a delightful temperature. It then pumps it down to the diver through a garden hose, which is taped to the air hose.
Now this sounds like a darn good plan, and I’ve used it several times with no complaints. What I do, when I get to the bottom and start working, is take the hose and stuff it down the back of my wetsuit. This floods my whole suit with warm water. It’s like working in a Jacuzzi.
Everything was going well until all of a sudden, my butt started to itch. So, of course, I scratched it. This only made things worse.
Within a few seconds my butt started to burn. I pulled the hose out from my back, but the damage was done. In agony I realized what had happened.
The hot water machine had sucked up a jellyfish and pumped it into my suit. Now, since I don’t have any hair on my back, the jellyfish couldn’t stick to it. However, the crack of my butt was not as fortunate.
When I scratched what I thought was an itch, I was actually grinding the jellyfish into the crack of my butt. I informed the dive supervisor of my dilemma over the communicator. His instructions were unclear due to the fact that he, along with five other divers, were all laughing hysterically.
Needless to say I aborted the dive. I was instructed to make three agonizing in-water decompression stops totaling thirty-five minutes before I could reach the surface to begin my BR chamber dry decompression. When I arrived at the surface, I was wearing nothing but my brass helmet.
As I climbed out of the water, the medic, with tears of laughter running down his face, handed me a tube of cream and told me to rub it on my butt as soon as I got in the chamber. The cream put the fire out, but I couldn’t poop for two days because my butt was swollen shut.
So, next time you’re having a bad day at work, think about how much worse it would be if you had a jellyfish shoved up your butt.
Now repeat to yourself, “I love my job, I love my job, I love my job.” Now whenever you have a bad day, ask yourself, “Is this a Jellyfish bad Day?”
