One Minute Tip:

Break Bad Habits

Habits, regardless of size or nature, can be exceptionally difficult to break.

This will take a lot of effort but you can do it. Unfortunately, poor habits can be the one aspect of your behavior that could be the obstacle to making money.

If you have a habit of sniffling or chewing your nails when you get nervous or saying demeaning or offensive things as a way of trying to control, to be successful, whether on a personal or business level, you have to stop.

Power Quotes:

Happiness:

Don’t let the negativity given to you by the world disempower you. Instead give to yourself that which empowers you.

~ Les Brown

Health:

“You should never say anything to a woman that even remotely suggests that you think she’s pregnant unless you can see an actual baby emerging from her at that moment.”

- Dave Barry, “Things That It Took Me 50 Years to Learn”

Prosperity:

Riches are closely linked with success. And with that comes fame and acknowledgment of position. Success might be the feeling of well-being from the rewards of good effort. Or the enthusiasm and vitality triggered by recognition.

Tips for your Happiness:

Become happier – with less Bad News!

Some people just can’t start their day without their daily dose of news.

Try and think about it, 99% of the news we hear or read is bad news.

News is stressful. Get less of it.

Starting the day with bad news does not seem to be a sensible thing to do.

Manage your time better

Time is invaluable and too important to waste. Time management can be viewed as a list of rules that involves scheduling, setting goals, planning, creating lists of things to do and prioritizing.

These are the core basics of time management that should be understood to develop an efficient personal time management skill.

These basic skills can be fine tuned further to include the finer points of each skill that can give you that extra reserve to make the results you desire.

Always remember the quote from Abraham Lincoln, he says that, ”Most people are about as happy as they make up their minds to be.”

Learn good stress relief techniques.

Stress is an abnormal condition that disrupts the normal functions of the body or mind.

No two people are affected in exactly the same way, or to the same degree, but most people living in our highly industrialized society suffer from its effects at one or more times during their lives.

Symptoms range from mind headaches, occasional bouts of insomnia, overall restlessness, digestive problems, irritable bowel syndrome, constipation and diarrhea, and abdominal pain.

SELECTED LIFE EVENTS THAT CAN BRING ON STRESS:

Dealing With Work Related Stress
Examples that can cause work related stress are trying to get too much work done in too little time, cutting corners or otherwise taking chances that may put you, or someone else at risk, and trying to get along with superiors and co-workers.

Everybody has days when there simply seems there’s too much work to get done. Trying to get everything done by yourself can bring on stress. Some people try and deal with the pressure by delegating certain jobs to others.

If you can unburden yourself and not worry about when and how the work gets done, if you can put full faith and trust in co-workers or subordinates it can be an effective escape valve. Trouble is, most people can’t let go.

If you have the type of personality that demands to know how things are going, chances are you’re only increasing the pressure and stress on yourself by constantly worrying if the work is getting done or not.

To lessen stress you must either learn to trust others to get the job done, or prioritize jobs to get rid of “what must be done” first. Many people tend to “put off” the difficult jobs they hate to do until the last possible minute.

Of course, this only makes it all the more difficult and stressful when you finally get around to doing what you should have done earlier.

When you feel the “walls closing in on you” if possible, take a break. Many people in trying to relax actually kick their bodies into overdrive by using their break time to either get a nicotine or caffeine fix.

Instead of calming you down, both substances being stimulants speed up your body processes. You may think you’re relaxing, but your blood pressure and heart are working harder.

Instead of coffee or cigarettes try a brief chat with friends, a short leisurely walk, even just looking out the window for a few minutes. Never take breaks, or eat lunch at your work station.

The point of a break is to get away from whatever work you’re doing. You can’t get your mind off your work if you’re chained to your work area.

Getting along with your co-workers and the boss can be more than a sore point. It can be something you learn to put up with, or it can turn into a festering wound that only gets worse with time.

If you’re having problems, get them out in the open. Most managers today at least have some training in dealing with personal problems.

If you can’t clear the air or have tried using all the company procedures to resolve a grievance, and you no longer enjoy your job, hate to go to work in the morning, or feel that the pressure is getting to be too much, it may be time to seriously consider a change.

Stop Smoking!

You have probably heard this more times, than you can count but facts are facts! There is no other way to say it – smoking is not only bad for your health, it is deadly! One woman in her late thirties had smoked for 10 years.

She had tried everything from watering down her cigarettes, throwing them away, wearing a patch, chewing gum, you name it, she tried it. She really wanted to quit but the addiction was so strong she was finding it impossible.

The mother of an 11-year old daughter and a 13-year old son, she was taken by surprise when something happened that made her quit smoking in one day. Her son told her that he had something very important to tell her. With a quick response of, “Okay, what is it?” he said, “No, I really need to talk to you.” She knew by the look on his face and the tone of his voice that this was something important.

Her son looked her square in the face and without wavering said, “I want you to quit smoking because I don’t want you to die. I want a mother in my life.” With that, she walked over to an ashtray, put out her cigarette, and now almost seven years later, she still does not smoke.

While this will not work for everyone, the next time you pick up a cigarette; take a minute to consider how your child or family would feel if you were no longer around.

Sleep It Off

Skimping on sleep may add inches to your waistline.
Your blood levels of leptin, a hormone that acts as an appetite suppressant, appear to decrease when you experience sleep deprivation, according to new research.

Keep leptin levels high and curb overeating and weight gain by getting at least 6 to 8 hours of sleep per night.

Getting 6 to 8 hours of sleep per night can make your RealAge as much as 3 years younger.

4 Common Allergies That Make You Snore

Do you have a problem with snoring? You might be surprised to find out that it is coming from a problem with allergies. Even if you do not typically have allergic reactions, they can show up during the night whenever we are breathing more deeply.

Here are the four most common allergies that cause snoring problems for us. Getting rid of the source of the problem is typically the best way for you to overcome your snoring problem, once and for all.

Pet Dander – Allergic reactions to pets are far more common than most people think. Even if you do not typically have a difficult time with your animals, deeply breathing at night can cause you to snore as a result of an allergic reaction. Remove the pet from your bedroom and buy an air filter. This will help with snoring problems in most cases.

Pollen – Most people realize that they have some problems with pollen allergies but few of them make that connection between this type of allergen and snoring. During the day, our hair acts as a magnet for this type of pollen and if we don’t wash our hair before bedtime, it can be transferred to the pillow. This can make for a very difficult night of sleep as we breathe the pollen in from the pillow slip.

Creams – Many of us apply creams and lotions before going to bed in order to help with our skin. If we are doing this on our own skin or if somebody that we sleep with is doing this, it may cause an allergic reaction. The easiest way for you to test for this type of allergic reaction is to remove it for a night or two and see if the snoring ceases.

Detergents – You might think that you are doing yourself a large favor by keeping your sheets cleaned regularly but if you are allergic to the detergent, it can cause a lot of problems. Try switching to a hypoallergenic detergent that is also for sensitive skin. You might be surprised to find out that the problem disappears soon after the switch is made.

With almost any type of allergy, it is a good idea for you to run a high quality air filter in your bedroom. After just one or two nights of running this filter, you should begin to notice a difference in the way that you sleep and how good you feel when you wake up.

Tips for your Prosperity:

Tips On Attaining Wealth

Many people want money as a primary goal. And there certainly is nothing wrong with desiring mo’ney. But first, be sure that your true goal is mo’ney. Can you live, breathe, eat, and sleep mon’ey?

For true success-seekers, you must be your own boss. The great success stories all started and ran their own businesses. And, even though it seems as though all the good ideas have already been taken, there are plenty out there.

The secret of the wealthiest people is to find a special need and fill it. Like quick-food chains; like supermarkets; like electronic games. Whether you invent a new toy or gadget, or see a spot to market special items in a new way, the world is open to true entrepreneurs. And they do make it.

Establish A Goal for Your Success

What do you want? Are you looking for financial security, professional acknowledgment, spiritual attainment? Do you want to fit better socially, or become more expressive creatively? Establish the goal that’s right for you.

Then turn that goal from a dream into a desire. You want to realize that goal, not just wish for it. Aesop said, “Beware that you do not lose the substance by grabbing at the shadow.” Know exactly what you want, then go for it.

Don’t be tricked by your own procrastination – especially if you want to achieve something artistic. The writer Thomas Wolfe wrote, “I had been sustained by that delightful illusion of success which we all have when we dream about the books we are going to write instead of actually doing them.

Now I was face to face with it, and suddenly I realized that I had committed my life and my integrity so irrevocably to this struggle that I must conquer now or be destroyed.”

Can you see what you want? If you want the abundance of material wealth that money provides, what goal will give you that money? Do you want the prestige of owning your own business? What business do you want to begin?

Where are the opportunities for you? Talk to everyone in the business you want to join. Make friends in the literary or art societies in your area. Read books and articles about your field of endeavor. How can you attain your goal?

“If you don’t want to work, you have to work to earn enough money so that you don’t have to work,” wrote Ogden Nash. And isn’t that the way” Money makes money; success breeds success. But not always. How can you break through those thoughts to help yourself to the rewards?

Henry David Thoreau wrote, “I have learned this at least by my experiment: that if you advance confidently in the direction of your dreams, and endeavor to live the life which you imagine, you will meet with success.”

Think big and visualize success. Do you see yourself in a big house? Maybe you picture your artwork hanging in a gallery. Can you feel your book in print and in your hands? How does it feel to be a person of success? Believe that you are; believe that it is in your grasp. That’s what the others did, and that’s how people make it to the top.

Then get down to basics. Be precise. Exactly how much money do you want, and by what date? And exactly what are you going to do to earn that money? Be realistic, but give yourself short-term goals.

Write it down. In six months or one year, you will have how much money. And repeat it until it feels good. Then repeat it twice a day until it swirls in your subconscious, until it becomes your one-pointed goal.

“The goal stands up, the keeper stands up to keep the goal,” wrote A.E. Housman.
