As you would have noticed, the site has now changed over to a 3 column format. There are a couple of minor changes still to be made, however I would like to thank you for your patience while the site has been in transition. I almost forgot. The Art of Gift Giving

Everyone loves to be given a gift, especially as a surprise or “just because.” Just remember while giving gifts is a beautiful thing to do for the person you love, there are five key essentials for making your mate know that you are giving just because you love them. First, put some thought into the gift.

Do not just pick up something at the last minute so you are not empty handed. Second, make the effort. Even if you have a busy schedule, be sure to schedule time to shop. Third, give with the right attitude.

You give because you appreciate and love, not because you want something back. Fourth, plan what you are going to give. Find something that is important for your mate and not necessarily to you.

Finally, add the element of surprise into the gift giving. Using this equation is sure to impress your mate and leave a lasting impression.


We generally speak about setting goals at the beginning of the year. You know, along with all those other promises you make yourself. Well, we are now three months into 2011 and I want you to revisit those goals that you wrote down. Are you on track? Are you struggling? Tips for your Happiness:

We all want to be Happy, dont we? Is it a state of mind? Trust in the power of your mind (more specifically, your subconscious mind). Trust that it will deliver the right words at the right time.

Reinforce in your being the belief that your mind will deliver the right words at the right time. Meaning, if you are speaking without the aid of a written script (where something is read verbatim or word-for-word), like some do (others, like myself, prefer to just write down key words in logical progression to serve as reminders), avoid worrying about what you’re going to say next. If you know your topic really well, your subconscious mind will produce the right words at the right time (especially if you went over the content of your speech many times prior to your presentation)…if you will only allow it…if you will only trust it. But you must be in the right state for this to work effectively.

You must be in a relaxed, confident, and “trusting” state. A state where you “just know” that the words will come. (Of course, it helps greatly if you are speaking about a topic you are passionate about.) You must trust in your mind’s ability to deliver. The more you do this, the more your mind will automatically deliver when you need it to.

For some reason, the subconscious mind likes to be trusted. The more you trust it, the more it wants to be worthy of that trust. In other words, it will find ways to justify that you are right in trusting it. And if you don’t trust it, it will also find ways to justify that you are right in not trusting it.

Actually, there may be times when your mind just goes blank (for a second or two), for some reason, and you don’t remember the word/term you wish to use in a sentence. In a case like that, just stay relaxed and wait patiently. Just wait in a relaxed and expectant state…and eventually, the right word will come. (Whatever you do, avoid panicking. The more anxious you are, the harder it will be to remember the right word. Remember, the less you trust your mind, the less it will want to deliver.)

Besides, if you stay calm, most of the time, people won’t even notice that there’s something wrong. They’ll think it was just a normal pause, or you did it on purpose for effect. In other words, the flow of your presentation will move smoothly without interruption. And you will continue to be perceived as being “in charge” of the situation.

Remember this: The more you trust your mind, the more it will deliver. And the more your mind delivers, the more confident you will become in speaking situations.

Open Your Eyes

Do not drive yourself crazy with this, but take notice of how your relationship is going. Open your eyes and take stock of what is and is not working in your relationship.

Can Muscles Help You Live Longer?

You already know that muscles can help you look better. But you might not know that there is a direct relationship between muscle mass and the strength of your immune system.

White blood cells and antibodies, the foundation of your immune system, are both made from protein. And when you have well-developed muscles, you have a ready supply of protein to make these antibodies and cells. That’s why strength training is so important, especially as we age (when muscle mass naturally decreases). Studies have shown that the number of natural killer cells (a specific type of white blood cell) is directly proportional to muscle mass in the older population.


(1) Eat a high-fiber diet
(2) Consume milk and milk products daily (for calcium)
(3) Get 20 minutes of sun exposure a day (for Vitamin D)
(4) Exercise on a regular basis.

Be Careful with the Sun

Everyone loves basking in the warm sun, especially if it is lying on a beautiful sandy beach. While the sun has many benefits, too much sun without proper protection can be harmful. Being sunburned not only hurts, but also damages skin and promotes wrinkles and cancer. If you are going to spend any time in the sun, even 10 minutes, protect your skin with sunscreen for both UVA and UVB rays.

Basic Tips To Manage Money

So you already earned your money. The next question presented to you is what you are going to do with it. Even when one has the list of payables and obligations to liquidate the monthly charges, a means of properly handling the money is required to be able to maintain a stable and consistent budgeting. Here are some basic tips to manage money.

Know When To Stop

Probably the hardest thing to do is to stop when it is needed, especially in terms of having more than what could be paid off. We should be able to know what things are plausible and valid to be supported with our own means of productivity. When we get more than what we could support, chances are that we end up giving them up, or worse, wrongly choosing what things to retain and what things to let go.

The idea of knowing the needs and wants also fit in this description as we should be able to determine first what things we need than want. This prevents us from being biased in our judgment in acquiring. More often than not, the things that we want are more appealing and are a greater risk of snagging us in a trap of financial burden and chaos in the long run.

Taking time to stop and think first and then evaluating what to prioritize first is essential to a progressive and stable money management.

Impulsiveness Means Disaster

One of the basic tips to manage money is to stop one’s self from being impulsive. Even if we have already determined what to prioritize, we still have to further evaluate for alternatives and not actually spend on the first offer that comes our way. When we are impulsive, there is a very high chance that we risk our money into spending for something that we could have gotten away with at much of a lesser price.

Risk Is Healthier Than Full Security

Risking the resources we have for a productive cause and viable profit earner is a healthy practice to take by an individual. Though this may mean a loss of capital in the form of personal money, not investing and instead just putting it in your personal safety vault or the bank will stagnate your extra resources.

Nevertheless, careful planning and feasibility study of a business venture is needed to determine the most efficient way to establish and commence a risky business deal into a promising profit earner.

Planning Ahead Is Essential

Even if we still have a lot of flexible time to just sit around and enjoy each day as it passes by, planning ahead of schedule in terms of a few months to several years is important in projecting one’s self when the future comes.

It does not have to be followed as rigidly as it should be, but just enough to become a basis of many activities and choices by the individual. Knowing where to go and what to do lessens the chances of getting stuck up in a crossroad of future choices. Furthermore, this lessens the worries and anxieties that a person might be thinking as important dates draw near. In addition to that, these pre-set guidelines would serve as a means to calibrate the performance of the self with the intended output, therefore allowing him to properly reset or recalibrate the means of work and production in order for him to further increase the expected outcome reasonably.

These basic tips to manage money are just a few of the many means to effectively have more resources than just getting break evened with your salaries and allowances.

Rejection affects thought processes

Sometimes you notice that one of your people is left out of conversations, eats lunch alone, or doesn’t seem to have a friend in the department. Is that any of your business? Consider this:

Psychologists at Case Western Reserve University say interpersonal rejection can dramatically reduce the capacity for intelligent thought. It is so apparent to researchers that they wonder if reasoning skills evolved to help us navigate the complexities of social life rather than help us solve technical problems.

After taking a personality test in one study, one group of subjects was told they would die alone. The other group was told to expect lasting friendships. Subjects who thought they would have a solitary life were significantly impaired in performing complex reasoning tasks. They were also slower and less accurate in their responses to a timed IQ test.

The doctors’ report, published in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, said the effect was similar to the cognitive impairment caused by head injuries. In a related study, rejected people took greater risks and made more unhealthy choices rather than taking better care of themselves.

Study leaders conclude that excluded individuals are so busy trying to suppress emotional distress that they are unable to engage in controlled thinking.

If you can arrange to include a socially rejected employee in more socialized activities, you could be rewarded with one who thinks better and works better.

I was riding to work yesterday when I observed a female driver cut right in front of a pickup truck causing him to have to drive on to the shoulder to avoid hitting her. This evidently angered the driver enough that he hung his arm out his window and flipped the woman off.

”Man, that guy is stupid” I thought to myself.

I ALWAYS smile nicely and wave in a sheepish manner whenever a female does anything to me in traffic and here’s why:

I drive 48 miles each way every day to work, that’s 96 miles each day. Of these, 16 miles each way is bumper-to-bumper. Most of the bumper-to-bumper is on an 8 lane highway so if you just look at the 7 lanes I am not in, that means I pass something like a new car every 40 feet per lane.

That’s 7 cars every 40 feet for 32 miles. That works out to be 982 cars every mile, or 31,424 cars. Even though the rest of the 32 miles is not bumper to bumper, I figure I pass at least another 4000 cars. That brings the number to something like 36, 000 cars I pass every day.

Statistically, half of these are driven by females, that’s 18, 000. In any given group of females, 1 in 28 has PMS. That’s 642. According to Cosmopolitan, 70% describe their love life as dissatisfying or unrewarding. That’s 449. According to the National Institute of Health, 22% of all females have seriously considered suicide or homicide. That’s 98. And 34% describe men as their biggest problem. That’s 33.

According to the National Rifle Association 5% of all females carry weapons and this number is increasing. That means that EVERY SINGLE DAY, I drive past at least one female that has a lousy love life, thinks men are her biggest problem, has seriously considered suicide or homicide, has PMS, and is armed.

Flip one off?
