One Minute Tip:

Relationships

When couples first get together, everything is new and exciting. They overlook the little annoying things the other person does.

However, after time, the nagging starts, instead of hearing, “You look beautiful,” they might hear “Why are you wearing that shirt?” If this sounds like your relationship, first, the two of you need to sit down and be honest that things have changed.

Identify the things each other did in the beginning of the relationship that created the attraction in the first place. Then together, make a commitment to start over. The truth is, both of you will have to work on this. It will not automatically be easy but it is possible. Start by forgiving each other, forgetting the past, and then start over with the flirtation.

Focus only on the special things your mate does and relearn to put the unimportant things aside. It will take some time so be patient.

Power Quotes:

-Ben Williams

Youth is the gift of nature, but age is a work of art.

Tips for your Happiness:

How to Boost Your Creativity: Even If you’re Not In the Creative Field!

Kate is currently managing the family business. Everything’s going well except that she feels that something is lacking. She feels that the creative side of her is slowly dying. Before she got married, she worked at an advertising agency. She described this experience as one of the happiest in her life.

After marriage, however, she decided to help her husband in managing the business. Although she doesn’t regret her choice, she wants to develop her creativity and do something apart from handling the business. Sounds familiar right? Almost all of us, at some point in our lives, experienced this dilemma. Some of us are experiencing this right now.

We certainly need creative outlets. The opportunities for creative expression are numerous; we only have to keep our minds and options open. Perhaps there is an opportunity right in your family business to express your creativity. Perhaps we need to promote or market our products and services.

If this is the case, we can awaken our creative side by coming up with brochures and pamphlets or even an information packet for businesses. If we look hard enough, we will find that everything, even the most unrelated things, can inspire us to be creative.

If we have extra time, we can volunteer our services to family and friends for a small fee. This will allow us to flex our creative muscles with a lot less pressure than doing it full-time. Better yet, we can just do it for free!

Look for creative opportunities at home, too. Perhaps the house needs to be redecorated or there is a need for creative solution to storage problems. It is fun to do home-improvement projects, especially on a tight budget. Now, that really gets our creative juices flowing!

Perhaps the family photos need organizing. Maybe the garden needs to be designed. An upcoming special family event could use our creative touch. Why not design a backdrop for that big family reunion or put together a snazzy PowerPoint presentation for a wedding anniversary? How about decorating the venue for birthday party?

Explore other creative activities, as well, including some we have never tried before. For example, we can try doing a scrapbook, try our hand in baking, sewing, doing children’s arts and crafts, etc. If you are into visual arts and writing, then the possibilities for creative milking are endless.

Try these other ideas to get our creative juices pumping:

– Enroll in creative writing courses: check local community colleges or the classifieds for workshops in your area

– Practice writing a Journal: just get a notebook and a pen and let our thoughts flow

– Write poems: instead of writing free prose on your journal, try experimenting with rhymes and metaphors

– Draw, paint, or do graphic arts: create something for kids, members of the family, or just for ourselves to look at and say “I did that!”

– Try photography: a picture paints a thousand words; as they say, life is poetry in action. Capture it.

– Try jewelry making, pottery, theater arts, singing, and just about everything else that will keep us entertained!

Creativity is a state of mind. One does not have to be in a creative field to be creative. We can be creative as soon as we open our eyes in the morning. Let us put our stamp of individuality in every aspect of our lives. Above all, make our lives be our masterpiece. Enjoy it!

Eight Helpful Tips to Win the Battle of the Bulge

Do you have problems with weight gain? Can’t seem to get enough of eating? Is weight gain your main concern now?

Chances are you are one of the 1.2 billion people in the world who are having problems controlling their diet and weight. In the United States alone, 93 million Americans are classified as obese.

Losing weight is one of the most daunting tasks that a person can undergo. It requires a great amount of discipline and perseverance on the part of the obese person.

Some people have the tendency to go on a “crash” diet just to be able to get rid of those fats and calories. The bad news is dieting is just not effective in the long term. You will have to change your lifestyle, if you are bent on shaving off some weight.

If you are seriously considering reducing some pounds in your weight, read on.

1. Determine if there is a real need to lose weight.
Look at your shape, height, weight, and history of obesity in your family. When was the last time you gained weight? Does obesity run in your family?

2. Evaluate your eating habits.
Are you constantly starving or craving for food? If you are, you first need to learn how to eat in a normal pattern. Erratic eating habits and dieting may reduce your body metabolism causing you to starve and hoard food into your stomach.

3. Make a plan.
Once you have set your mind on changing your pattern, you have to determine how to do that. You can choose the food you eat, the amount of food you ingest, or the physical regimen you will engage in. You can also seek the help of a dietitian.

4. Don’t aim to lose too much too quickly.
Avoid getting the habit of losing weight at once. Don’t try to lose more than half a pound in just a week. Take it one pound a week. Make changes gradually. 5. Start with damage control.
You can handle this task yourself. If you are not in-charge of the shopping chores, you can ask the one doing the shopping not to include chocolates or potato chips in the shopping list. Rather, opt for the low-calorie diet.

6. Don’t give up easily.
Just because you failed and chose the wrong food one day doesn’t mean you should totally forget the weight loss issue. You can always start out the next day.

7. Reduce the fat.
Cutting out on fatty foods is not only good for your figure but also for your health – you can lower your risk for heart diseases as well as cancer. Fatty foods eat up a lot of calories in your body. A gram of fat contains nine calories while a gram of protein or carbohydrates contains four.

8. Have a regular exercise.
Exercise and other strenuous activities can burn out unwanted calories. However, it may also increase your metabolism so choose the right kind of exercise. Take the stairs instead of the elevator. Ride the bicycle or do brisk walking.

Weight loss programs may provide empty promises. Taking into consideration these eight helpful tips may be the key to a genuine weight loss program.

3 Ways To Keep Your Vision Sharp

In a world where people are concerned with major health scares like diabetes, cardiac problems, anemia, and the like, it’s all easy for us to forget the simple but important things. Keeping your senses fully functional makes a great difference in your life. Losing even one sense can have a tremendous impact on your latter years if you ignore it in lieu of the “bigger” health threats.

In line with this, you can do three things that can help you keep your eyesight sharp. These three tips are simple enough to follow and will help you keep your vision from deteriorating. These tips will help improve your current visual acuity as well.

1) Eye Health Maintenance
There are two major things to consider when you want to keep your eyeballs healthy. First, you have to maintain a proper diet. Vegetables, especially carrots and squashes, are very good for maintaining your eyesight. Taking Vitamin A supplements also helps the eyes.

Next, try to avoid excessive eyestrain. If you like to read books, for example, don’t read while riding a moving vehicle or stare too long at a TV or computer monitor. If you’re a movie buff, couch potato, video game jockey, or work with computers for long periods, remember to rest your eyes every hour or so.

2) Medical Stuff
There are two things you can do to maintain your eyesight and these involve working with an optometrist. The first is pretty simple. Have regular eye check ups every six months with an optometrist. This is about the same frequency that you do for regular cardio-vascular and dental checkups. So, it’s a good idea to add your eye doctors to the bi-annual agenda.

Secondly, there are medicines that help ease eyestrain. These usually come in the form of eye drops. While most people think that eye drops are simply meant to clean out eyeballs, these drops actually help soothe tired eyes and also act as moisturizers to keep the eyeballs from drying up. Allowing your eyeballs to dry up is actually one of the fastest ways that can lead to the deterioration of vision.

3) Eye Exercises
Lastly, try out a few eye exercises. Like muscles or any other part in the body, eyeballs actually get stronger when used and exercised properly. One common but very effective eye exercise is to randomly pick out a leaf on a tree and then to focus your gaze exclusively on that leaf, try to tune out all the surrounding leaves. This exercise helps focus the retina and makes you see things with greater clarity.

A second eye exercise is speed-reading. Read a short paragraph written anywhere. Start by reading at your normal pace. Then try to re-read the same passage but pick up the speed at which you go, until you can literally skim over the entire paragraph yet still absorb it’s contents. This increases the “reflexes” of your eyes. This also increases the rate at which your eyes send and receive signals from your brain.

There you go, these are three simple to follow. Do these and keep your vision from deteriorating.

Tips for your Prosperity:

How to Make Money without Making Enemies

Anytime is the best time to talk about gaining wealth without making enemies. Occasions, such as Christmas, provide a special reason. The best example is Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol.”

Even if you haven’t read the book, you must have seen a version of a TV movie or cartoon about the story of a stingy businessman named Ebenezer Scrooge. On Christmas Eve, he was visited by four ghosts. Afterwards, he became more generous and charitable.

When one strikes the gold and gets rich, chances are he develops enemies around him. It could be the manner in which he obtained the wealth or it could be simply because these people are jealous of his good fortune.

So we ask whether it is possible to gain wealth without gaining enemies. The answer to this question is yes.

We all want to have more money. However, here’s the dilemma: when we get the money, we are prone to have more power. That’s true.

Too much power can result to enemies. If you do not want enemies, but you want money, below are some of the things that you can do.

It may be difficult but it is all about self-control. By keeping your morals intact, you know how to handle the situation better and in a civil manner. In the world of business, there is a tendency for people to engage in cutthroat competition. If you subscribe to this way of thinking, you ease up on seizing an opportunity that will let you step on others in order to reach your goal.

You should be also confident in the skill that you have.
You need not be jealous of what others can do. By investing in your own talents, you can excel in this area. With diligence and devotion on what you are doing, soon enough you’ll be climbing up the corporate ladder.

Do not engage in BS or crap.
If you feel that an endeavor is a waste of time, then do not get into it. Think before you act. If you also feel that it is not worth pursuing, do not trick others to jump onboard. Keep an atmosphere of healthy competition. Do not drag people down. Keep the playing field open.

If you find yourself ahead than most people, keep your feet on the ground. Do not act all arrogant and exude the aura that you are better than others. You will surely have enemies around if you do so.

Seize every opportunity.
As long as it will help you succeed, then go for it. However, there is no need to pull somebody else down. Just proceed on your own pace and see the wonders ahead.

Everybody wants to make money and gain the secrets of the wealthy. They want to be their own boss and live their own lives and become financially stable. There are also people who want to achieve wealth without compromising their relationships with people around them.

It is possible. Just follow the golden rule: do not do unto others what you don’t want others do unto you. Always put yourself in the position of the other person, without degrading or incriminating your own benefit. Think of how you can gain from the situation, but also be mindful of those around you.

Fifteen Tips on Effective Time Management

Are you having problems managing time? Are you finding it difficult to be more effective at work?

Here are useful tips that you can consider to save up on your time and be more efficient in work:

1. List down the things you need to do.
Avoid the mistake of memorizing things you need to do. An efficient way of getting yourself organized to jot down all the tasks you need to accomplish.

2. Determine the most important task.
Find out which task is more important to you. This will help you focus on the most important project.

3. Establish a weekly schedule
Take some time to schedule your weekly tasks. Find out the priority tasks. By doing this, you can boost your productivity.

4. Avoid overloading yourself with too many tasks
At times, many people find themselves overloaded with too much tasks. Figure out when to accept or reject simple requests and you will have enough time to do the more important job.

5. Evaluate all your actions
Pause for a while and reflect on a course of action before accepting a new task. This will be very helpful in keeping you from overloading yourself with too much responsibility.

6. Evaluate your time management skills
In most cases, it is always advisable to review your time management skills. It may be best to refrain from doing a task that is only wasting your time so that you could concentrate on the more important tasks.

7. Be systematic in managing your time
Having a system in managing your time is very helpful in monitoring tasks, prioritizing work, and effectively accomplishing a goal. An efficient time management system is like a glue that binds all your activities together.

8. Point out and eradicate bad habits
Identify the bad habits that are constantly killing your time, interfering with your plan, and hindering your path to success. When you have done so, exert an effort in removing them from your system one by one. Bear in mind that the most convenient method of removal is by replacing it with a better attitude.

9. Refrain from doing the job of other people
Doing the job of another person may consume some time that you cannot afford to loose. Practice efficient delegation so that you can concentrate on your own tasks.

10. Monitor your progress
Keep a journal of your goals and jot down how you are doing for each goal. Consult the journal to determine if you are doing just fine.

11. Realize that perfect is not always the best
Point out the tasks requiring your best effort and those that needs to be just accomplished. For instance, sending an e-mail to a colleague need not take a lot of time.

12. Avoid doing jobs that acts as “filler” to other tasks
Avoid doing jobs that only serves to fill other tasks. Tasks like filing or organizing your drawer can be done after you have done urgent matters.

Consider these tips and you will be on your way to having productive and efficient time management skills.

Dear God:
Did you mean for Giraffe to look like that or was it an accident?

Dear God:
I keep waiting for Spring, but it never come yet. Don’t forget, ok?
– Mark

Dear God:
You don’t have to worry about me. I always look both ways.

Dear God:
Instead of letting people die and having to make new ones, why don’t you just keep the ones you got now?
– Jean

Dear God:
I went to this wedding and they kissed right in church. Is that ok?
– Neil

Dear God:
I think the stapler is one of your greatest inventions.
– Ruth

Dear God:
Thank you for the baby brother, but what I prayed for was a puppy.
– Joyce

Dear God:
I bet it is hard for you to love everybody in the whole world. There are only 4 people in our family and I can never do it.
– Nan

Dear God:
If you give me a Genie lamp like Aladdin, I will give you anything you want except my money and my chess set.
– Raphael

Dear God:
Maybe Cain and Abel wouldn’t kill each other so much if they had separate rooms. It works with my brother.
– Larry
