Tips for your Happiness:
Know Your Values Values, in basic terms are deeply held set of beliefs about what is important to us. Values state what matters most in our lives. Values may change over time but it’s important that we know what they are at this point in time. Interestingly, very few people spend their time trying to identify their values. Whenever we make any significant decisions, it will be based on our values so it’s important that we know what they are. There are so many resources available on the Internet to help you identify your core values. Do a search on Google for “personal values” and you will see a few websites popping up. Follow whatever model you like, but please do come up with your own list. There is no “right” set of values. They are your values and not knowing what they are may put you at a disadvantage.
Respect Privacy
When two people come together in a relationship, each person has their own set of history. There are yearbooks, maybe love letters from a first love, other objects that may not seem important to one person but to the owner, they have a special meaning. It is important to respect the privacy of your mate’s “stuff.” Do not dig through boxes of things owned by your mate out of curiosity. Instead, allow them to bring those things out if they feel it is necessary. By helping yourself, you are disrespecting something sacred to your mate, which is not healthy for any relationship. How to Use Motivation Rewards to Reach Your Goals Using rewards to reach a goal is not uncommon. It’s done all the time in business as employers reward their employees with bonuses, trips and days off for a job well done. Retail stores motivate their customers to shop with them by offering discounts and loyalty cards you get punched each time you buy something there with the promise of something free the next time you come it. You may be familiar with the two types of motivation called Intrinsic and Extrinsic. Intrinsic motivation is when a person is motivated from within him or herself. They work on a task or project or to achieve a goal simply for the love of doing it. Extrinsic motivation is when a person works on a task or tries to reach a goal, but is rewarded when that goal or steps to that goal are reached. Studies have shown that intrinsic is a better motivator than extrinsic but most of us are spoiled to the point of not doing something unless we’re rewarded. Motivation is a behavior you can influence to your advantage. But realize that even a highly motivated person can get discouraged or tired of working on a task if he’s not noticed and rewarded. People need to know they’re appreciated and that their good work does not go unnoticed. We’re all different and all motivated by different things. What motivates you may not motivate your spouse or your boss. It’s a valued skill when you’re able to match the type of motivation with the person to be motivated. Try different things and when one doesn’t work try another until the desired results are accomplished. Employers do this all the time but many use fear motivation with the threat that you could lose your job if you don’t do the work. This is not a permanent solution and most companies who implement this kind of motivation experience a high rate of employee turnover. Begin with a realistic goal but a goal that is challenging and you’ll feel a sense of pride when it’s accomplished. If you’re trying to lose weight for instance and your goal is to lose 10 pounds in 3 months, reward yourself for every milestone reached. If you lost 3 pounds in the first month, celebrate by going to lunch with a friend or treat yourself to a pedicure. (Both men and women enjoy this.) Be happy with the reward and you’ll start anticipating the loss of your next 3 or 4 pounds. If you tend to cheat and find it difficult to stick to the rules, work with a friend who will keep track of your progress and administer the reward when they’re earned. Make the reward irresistible to you and make it worthwhile even though it doesn’t have to be expensive. The experience you associate with the reward is what will keep you motivated. Motivation rewards work for almost any desired goal and can work wonders with children. Remember to have your reward aligned with your goal and you’re on the way to reaching your target with fun and anticipation. FREE! Powerful Daily Motivation
Tips for your Health:An Equation For Staying Healthy There are many tips and ways to stay healthy. From the
television, to magazine advertisements there are
several reminders to tell us how to stay healthy.
However, there is an even easier tip to constantly
remind us how to stay healthy. One We have to start an equation for staying healthy with
the first thing to remember: our life. We only have
one body to take care of, so it should not be that
hard to monitor and maintain. Another thing about “One” is that we only have one
shot in this life to do this. Of course we may be able
to rectify certain health practices when we stumble,
but how sure are we that we would still have that
second chance of living a normal life if the damage
has already been done? Therefore, the “One” that is pertained to in this
equation is our self. We only have one to boot and
therefore we should focus on this. Plus Two “Two” in this context means that there are only two
paths that we can choose, the right and the wrong
path. The same analogy goes to a beneficial or a
destructive outcome of our bodies. Plus Three “Three” is relatively simple, as it would pertain to
three parts of the day: morning, afternoon, and
evening. In relation to this, a person has to plan out
the activities in their appropriate time. Examples of activities that are good in the morning
are exercise, early morning sunshine, a time to
reflect and plan other activities for the rest of the
day, and breakfast. As for the afternoon, continued
work from the morning, a little bit of recreation
perhaps, and an eagerness to get home and rest. The exact activities that are placed into these three
different times throughout the day differ from each
person’s career and work schedule. Nevertheless, it is
always safe to assume one of these times as resting
and sleeping schedule. Equals Six “Six” pertains to the number of meals that one has to
eat everyday. Recent studies have shown that the
average daily caloric requirement needed per day is
best digested and assimilated if they were distributed
into six small meals instead of three large ones as
considered before. The one, plus two, plus three, equals six paradigm is
an equation for staying healthy which can be applied
to almost anyone, even those who are recuperating from
sickness, and those who haven’t experienced any major
illness yet.
STRESS AWAY FROM WORK
Anyone who's ever been stuck in a major traffic jam probably has seen the darker side of many people's personalities. It seems everyone is always in a hurry to either get, or go somewhere, and never seem to allow enough time for the everyday problems that are bound to crop up from time to time.
Banging on the steering wheel, laying on the horn, giving someone the "finger," or shooting a string of obscenities is only reacting to something that has already happened. You can't make the guy in front of you go any faster, or prevent someone from cutting you off. Accidents, road repairs, and just plain heavy traffic happens. Learn to deal with it or don't drive.
Most people are smart enough to know that they should set some time aside to take it easy. If you participate in some sports activity, remember you're doing it to relax! While many people naturally have their competitive nature come to the surface when engaging athletics, don't lose sight of the fact you're participating to have fun.
Families can be as source of support, an oasis away from the everyday pressures or sometimes it's only a place to grab a few hours sleep and get back in the rat race. Your children, spouse, family members, in-laws can be a source of irritation at times. If someone is constantly doing something that really "bugs you," tell the offending person or persons and see if things can be straightened out before things get out of control.
A man's home (a woman's too) should indeed be a place to rest and relax. Many people find it helpful unwind by sharing the day's events with their loved ones. It should not develop into a daily routine, nor should you give a detailed blow by blow recap of the day's events, but when things go wrong, who better to talk to than your family?
You should also be a good listener. Don't unload your problems and have no time for your mate's or children's problems. They may seem trivial to you, but they are real problems that need solving just like yours.
A great way to get rid of stress is, every once in a while, do something totally different and unexpected without any prior planning. Don't fall into a trap when you must do such and such thing a certain way, or at specific time or place.
Stress can best be managed by realizing what you can change about your life and knowing what you can't. Learn how to recognize the difference and you'll enjoy life more and be better able to deal the ups and downs that are part of everyone's life.
Tips for your Prosperity:Some families don't know about child tax benefits Treasury Secretary Paul O'Neil notes that the IRS knew about the problem but did little or nothing about it. Taking the tax credit could result in a refund even if you didn't owe any tax.
